About Coach Josh

Coach Reckeweg, “AKA, Coach Reck” grew up in Ocean County, NJ.  He played varsity basketball and graduated from Toms River East High School.

Currently, he is the Varsity Assistant Head Coach at Toms River South High School and the Head Coach of the Warriors Basketball Club in Toms River, NJ.

After graduating from Toms River East High School he became a Coach for the Warriors Basketball Club.  Coach Reck has played, coached or facilitated team sports for over 18 years. Over that time he has developed an expertise in motivating and training student athletes. Coach Reck understands that all players are different and may need a different learning approach. Bringing that diversity to his training has improved the skills of his novice and elite players as well. Further, you can expect that Coach Reck’s method of focused,  high-effort training will foster growth in your child’s skills and abilities.

In addition, Coach Reck has helped many young men and women achieve their dreams of making a team sports at their current Middle School, High School and College. Coach Reck believes in educating and mentoring his students to set and achieve goals.  As he always says, “kids don’t need critics or a best friend in their coach, they need honest mentors.” These words speak volumes about his character. Moreover, they are a main reason why athletes that have trained under Coach Reck have obtained a healthy passion and desire for the game; respect for their teammates and their opponents; valuable life skills and tools that they will carry forward on and off the basketball court. 

We have been proud to call Coach Reckeweg a family member and friend. He is a shining example of what the Warriors Basketball Club is all about.
